Michael Kamtman

MICHAEL KAMTMAN is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Wake Forest University. He teaches Acting, Voice and Movement, Introduction to Theatre, Stage Combat, and Audition Techniques. He has created fight choreography for numerous productions for local theatre companies and schools, from the works of Shakespeare to Oklahoma! He has taught stage combat at several area colleges, including Wake Forest and Greensboro College. Michael has been active as a local actor and director for over 30 years in the Triad. He performed, choreographed, and served as fight captain for many productions with the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival for 15 years. And he has directed close to 80 productions since moving to North Carolina in the late 1980s, including 10 operas. He holds a BA in Theatre from Bucknell University, an MA in Theatre from the University of Connecticut, and MFA in Directing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
