McLane Snow
McLane is currently working as a Design Technical Lead at TAIT. He came into this position through a long history of field installation and integration work. He is a native of Winston Salem, NC and began his work in theatre starting in high school. He went on to attend University of North Carolina School of the Arts where he received a BFA in Technical Direction. After school he moved to Las Vegas to start applying his craft on some of the largest shows in the industry doing everything from set fabrication and automation installation to show programming.
McLane then spent over 12 years working as a freelance automation and rigging contractor. Most recently he has lead large field operations on projects such as The Hale Center in Salt Lake City, Utah and large theme park projects in Orlando, Florida. He has also held head automation roles on extremely complicated tours such as Kylie Minogue’s Aphrodite and Metallica’s Through the Never. McLane most recently was on the road with Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Getaway Tour where he was responsible for TAIT’s Nano Winch led array numbering over 1000 axis of automation.
In addition, he served as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in the scenic technology program, where he continues to guest lecture. He also holds an ITI Master Rigger certification to complement his countless hours of arena, theatre, and film rigging experience.
